Hello Cesar; this is a different way to see the tools to be used in blended learning, tools like: audio, text, icons, webcam, and others. All these tools can be researched in a multimodality form to seek on how to improve our teaching experience. Cesar is telling the true by affirming that sometimes we omit those issues and just go with them in a activity without a meaningful checking on it.

So in this sense is new for me, because as the author said, nobody calls it by multimodality neither researches who use antoher words such as mode, diversity.
